GP practice at Ponteland Road Health Centre to close
NHS Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group have made the very difficult decision to close the GP practice at Ponteland Road Health Centre, following our unsuccessful attempt to find anyone to run the service.
The CCG are disappointed to be in this position, but unfortunately we have been left with no other option.
We understand that the practice is highly valued within the community and we have tried our best to keep the practice open. We would like to stress that this decision is not a reflection on the staff who have worked very hard to deliver a high quality service to their patients.
Any patients registered at this practice will shortly be receiving a letter with a list of nearby practices, as well as more detailed information on how to register with a GP practice
We would like to apologise to any patients affected by the closure and will be focusing on providing support to people registering with a new practice.
The GP Practice will close 31st March 2018.
This decision will not affect the walk-in service based at Ponteland Road Health Centre.
